Yung LA

Yung LA

At a time when many rappers fall victim to the age old adage of imitation is flattery to the contrary no statement could apply less than to “Mr. Original” himself the one and only Yung LA. Towering as generation next most electrifying Mc Yung LA’s fearlessness to explore the inner depths of his true artistic abilities is what has made him in a relative short period arguably the most talented as well as highly sought after artist in all of Hip-Hop.

The owner of an unapologetic swag that refuses to follow trends rather instead set them is what makes him the future of Hip-Hop perfection delivered in the present. Rarely in any genre of music has an artist so early in their career showed as much promise while pushing the limits of creative expression the way that Yung LA does so effortlessly rather in the studio or on stage.

Born Leland Austin aka Yung LA in entertainment mecca Atlanta, Georgia he was raised in deadly Thomasville Heights a notorious housing project located in the heart of the peach state capitol known for gangs, drugs, prostitution, and murder. Fly since a knee high Yung LA’s combination of pretty boy thug looks and first rate fashion sense coupled with a personality so mesmerizing his mere presence could cause female classmates to ooh & ahh uncontrollably served as the upbringing of a larger than life talent destined for superstardom. Thoroughly understanding that the only way to become a legendary music icon is by carving your own niche is the mindset of an artist who is the very definition of originality... Yung LA. The torch bearer of Atlanta Hip-Hop Yung LA’s underground grind to fame is what cemented his status as the city’s most anticipated new rapper in years. You name it he killed it from countless open mics, independent artist showcases, Mc battles, down to night clubs and music conference performances nobody and I mean nobody out worked or out shined Yung LA. To say he was the talk of the city would be a major understatement. Not since the legendary likes of Outkast and Goodie Mob has an A-town rapper caused such a massive buzz to the likes of which Young La has. While just a teen in 2007 Yung LA held Atlanta’s underground rap scene hostage unleashing a style so unmistakably original he caught the attention of popular rapper Young Dro who immediately took the young music prodigy to the label he was signed to Grand Hustle Records owned by Hip-Hop megastar T.I.

In a scene straight from a Hollywood fairytale Yung LA went from being unsigned and nameless to Hip-Hop’s cover boy and famous. The groundbreaking success of his earth shattering debut single “Aint I” featuring Young Dro and King of the South T.I. would help to majorly establish Yung LA as a bonifide international superstar. Nominated for several awards including B.E.T.’s highly coveted best collaboration for “Aint I” transformed Yung LA into a heartthrob of epic proportions. Credited with ushering in the immensely popular futuristic movement Yung LA followed up his smash hit “Aint I’ with the infectious female anthem “Futuristic Love” featuring label mate Ricco Barrino solidifying his position as the new look & sound of rap music. No longer with Grand Hustle Yung LA under the steadfast leadership and invaluable wisdom of long time manager extraordinaire Jack Russell are gearing up to shock the world once more with the much heralded “Tattoos & Jewelry” mix tape that features the club banger “True Religion” which has the streets, clubs, and internet on lock.
