Founded in 2006, Healthy Habits–Living With Diabetes is a labor of love for Dianne Howell, whose been a Type I insulin dependent diabetic for forty-eight years. A tireless champion for diabetes awareness and diabetics globally is why Dianne has made it her life’s mission to educate all those in need of her invaluable wisdom. Having earned her Bachelor’s of Science degree in education with endorsements in nutrition and health sciences from the University of Memphis has provided the 20 plus years healthcare veteran with a solid foundation and all the necessary experience to be able to thoroughly advise others. The former Blue Cross Blue Shield executive administrator responsible for health education, advocacy, and outreach in fifteen counties in West Tennessee along with serving as a key facilitator for Tennessee parent services is the badge of honor so proudly worn by Dianne Howell. Furthermore, her dedicated service as a trusted volunteer for the March of Dimes and countless other charitable foundations are the indelible attributes this humanitarian activist brings to Healthy Habits-Living With Diabetes non-profit organization.
Refusing to let diabetes delay, stop, or discourage her from leading a full and prosperous life is the mental toughness that Dianne teaches daily to thousands of diabetics, their family members, and those unaffected but interested in learning more about this grave disease. Once believed to affect only the elderly, diabetes is now attacking children of all ages and at an alarming rate, which is the reason Healthy Habits-Living With Diabetes so desperately needs the support of all who can afford to donate money, time, or both to combat a disease that’s rapidly bringing about a global genocide. Steadily becoming the “it” cause for generation next, has Healthy Habits-Living With Diabetes poised to become the non-profit of choice for tomorrow’s youth.
